Corporate Social Responsibility

We commenced our Community Programme in 2004, working with helping those groups furthest removed from the workplace into employment and at the same time provide a potential solution to the skills shortage affecting the Industry.

We have worked with The Bridges Programme & The Raploch URC as our Community Partners. In addition we started working with The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park in 2008.

Our involvement has been to identify work opportunities in the Construction Industry in Scotland for those individuals coming through the various programmes.

With The Bridges Programme we have worked with their “Equipped for the Future” programme which is designed to give CV production & interview skills to Refugees and Asylum Seekers. Our staff have been involved in conducting mock interviews, assisting with CV preparation and identifying potential work opportunities for refugees on completion of their course. As well as giving career advice and guidance to nearly 100 Bridges clients we have found employment for several clients with previous construction experience.

Alex Miller with Cuma Ulgu, Pierre Katehe and Liz Porter from Bridges.

With The Raploch URC we were specifically involved with “Breaking the Mould” which was a scheme aimed at finding construction opportunities for long term unemployed women from the Raploch area of Stirling. Our staff were involved in identifying Construction Companies whose workload would best suit the candidates on completion of their NVQ.

Our involvement with the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park started in June 2008 with the sponsorship of an apprentice over 4 years working with William Beaton & Sons of Thornhill.

These activities helped us obtain our Community Mark in 2008, the benchmark by which Corporate Social Responsibility strategies in the Community are measured by the Business led charity "Business in the Community".
