Wow, what a year 2018 has been for the Charity and Social Committee! Not only have we organised an event every month this year we have raised a fantastic ﾣ4600 with ﾣ650 going to Habit for Humanity and ﾣ3950 to our charity of the year Strathcarron Hospice.
The committee started off the year by holding a Burns Supper for all staff and clients in the local area which was a great success and was followed by our little sweet treats and nice messages to each other on Valentine’s Day! We’ve had bowling nights, curry nights, Wimbledon lunches, Easter and Halloween bake off’s but some of our bigger events have included a bungee jump with five of the staff participating and having three teams entering the Edinburgh Marathon Relay.
Our biggest event of the year had to be our Casino night we held in November. We hired in a professional company to give us the authentic casino experience, had pizza, nibbles, drinks flowing and casino chips everywhere and everyone commented on how good a night it was. Best of all we managed to raise ﾣ2000 from that night alone by selling raffle tickets for some fantastic prizes, having a silent auction and ticket sales.
It has been a great experience to be part of the Charity and Social Committee this year as not only has it given me the opportunity to use my planning skills (I really do love a list and organising events) but it also gave me an even better opportunity to speak to everyone in the office and collaborate with people that I wouldn’t normally work alongside.ﾠ
The Charities team are exceptionally proud of raising the largest ever total and would like to thank all the staff, clients, candidates, friends, family and local businesses that have helped us achieve this total throughout the year.
