Joining the company as a fresh graduate in 2006, Alan has tried a bit of everything, whether that be cutting his teeth with the engineering consultancies, developing his career within temporary recruitment, sourcing permanent staff for many of the building contractors or helping create our international division. Armed with all that knowledge he jumped at the chance to lead our permanent recruitment section in 2014, with the challenge of growing the team and developing our offering, while making sure that the ‘Contract Scotland way’ remained at the heart of everything we do. In 2016 Alan took on the role of Associate Director and is now involved with all the fun strategy & operational stuff! His proudest achievement is taking the business to parts of the world we never thought we would, as well as helping some of our ‘newer’ colleagues develop into great recruiters.

Started in 2005 as the 'office junior' and worked her way up through the finance team where she grappled with many a contract, timesheet and invoice over the years. Now in marketing, she works tirelessly to understand and adapt to our customer's ever-changing needs and wants. Her proudest achievement is this website, which she dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century while​ managing to keep most of her marbles!"

Andrea joined as a Resourcer in July 2017 and has recently progressed into the role of Consultant and is responsible for managing temporary opportunities with Construction Large clients. She's jumped in with both feet into our fast-paced temporary build team and having previously worked in volume recruitment for the outsourcing industry, she joined Contract Scotland looking for an opportunity to recruit people – not just numbers! Joined in 1997, so yes one of the oldies. Anne has seen it all, the good and the bad bits! She looks after the finances of the company and makes sure that the office is running so everyone can function to service all our customers; someone needs to make sure that the electricity bill gets paid! As a proud shareholder of the company, Anne has expertly navigated PSL's,​ works tirelessly to ensure we don’t touch our overdraft (no reliance on banks here) and knows the business inside out.

Callum joined our team in September 2015 to build on our Construction Medium and M&E building services section. He's used his extensive market knowledge gained from a competing agency to his advantage but has also learned a whole lot more about recruitment working with us. Adding value since becoming part of our family, the detailed information he supplies to our customers while providing an honest and transparent service to all has been outstanding. He loved playing a vital​ part in our social committee that helped raise £1351.50 for our 2016 Charity Partner, Strathcarron Hospice. Carolyn joined the company in February 2017, coming from a Finance role which primarily incorporated Purchase, Sales and Nominal Ledger. Joining the finance team as a credit controller, Carolyn is thoroughly enjoying her role.  Carolyn is establishing new Partnerships whilst reprising and maintaining previous relationships within the Construction Industry and loves working within such a forward thinking and innovative team.

The Director who started the business back in 1990 aged 24, Colin took on full ownership of Contract Scotland back in 1998 with a turnover of £2.2m and a staff of just 3. Since then he’s overseen the growth and development of the main business and incorporated both International Recruitment and Constructing Futures in recent years. He's also responsible for orchestrating our succession plan back in 2007, which has seen several staff rewarded for their contribution to the success of the business through internal promotion & shares. August 2011, enter David - how time flies when you’re having fun! Before joining the CS family, he studied Business Management at Uni and worked within the Construction industry for his family's Construction Management firm. He's now responsible for managing all permanent recruitment needs for the large/multinational building contractors across Scotland. David firmly believes that a consultative approach is essential and that working closely with our customers while being honest and upfront​ is the best way to build strong long term relationships. After finishing her Modern Apprenticeship and working within our Finance Team as Compliance and Payroll Assistant for two years, Dionne decided to take on her next challenge by joining our temporary civils team. She joined colleagues Grant Dalziel and Katie Horne and assisted in candidate management to help recruit for our Civils Large and Civils small to medium clients. As of August 2019 Dionne was promoted to the role of Recruitment Consultant where she recruits freelance workers for our construction SME clients.

Another long term member of staff who has been with us since 2003. Dot started out as a Payroll / Secretarial and Credit Control Assistant (we were much smaller back then). Over the years she has worked her way up to become Senior Credit Controller which she loves with a passion. Dot believes her telephone manner, negotiation skills and vast client knowledge, has helped develop and maintain customer relationships. She also really enjoys the variety of personal contact and communication with our customers on a daily basis. When it comes to non-payment of invoices, however, there is not a single excuse that she hasn't heard before!! The dog ate my homework kind of stuff, so it brings an enormous amount of satisfaction when a payment of a long overdue invoice comes in!​

Fiona arrived in November 2014 and started out as one of our Recruitment Resourcers. Fast forward a year to January 2016 and she's now a Recruitment Consultant responsible​ for the construction consultants sector here at Contract. Listening to both job seekers and employers in her section, Fiona acutely assesses their exact needs and motivations, allowing her to fuse the two together to create the perfect match. Grant joined Contract Scotland in 2015 and started working within the Design Consultancy, Energy & Client sectors working to build the profile of these markets in the freelance division. Since January 2018, Grant has also headed up the Small – Medium Civil Contractors and has seen the section grow from strength to strength. Whilst Grant’s sense of direction and “dad jokes” leave a lot to be desired, his market knowledge and desire to see the freelance division grow has been key to his success. The standing joke is he needs as much coffee as he can to keep up with the divisions!

Joined in August 2014 and that time has flown by! Heather's the friendly face at reception often seen juggling the busy phones and seeing to the consultants every demand! She's also the IT geek in training (always heard saying restart your computer and see if that helps much to the annoyance of the staff, but it works!). Heather now works as our Compliance & Payroll Administrator in our busy Finance team. Her proudest achievement is abseiling down an 800ft cliff face in aid of MacMillan Cancer support.​

Jamie's been part of the Contract family since 2007 and in that time he's enjoyed working in a variety of sections. Initially joining the recruitment team as a Resourcer, he stepped up to become a Consultant looking after the public sector and design consultancy sections. Jamie established the Energy division and also recruited for Civil Engineering Contractors before taking over responsibility for permanent recruitment for Design Consultancies. Having covered such variety, he's able to offer wide-ranging support and advice to our customers while providing a more holistic view on industry trends. He takes genuine pride in the fact that we offer a service based on sound ethics and goes home at night knowing that he's made a positive contribution to our customers and the wider industry. John-Paul joined us back in 2003 as a Recruitment Consultant supplying temporary site engineers. He went on to enjoy success growing his section and managing in-house recruitment teams before assuming the responsibility of the freelance side of the business in 2007. 2009 saw John-Paul appointed as a Director following the continued growth of the company. Having navigated the last recession, he now has the pleasure of being responsible for the growth and development of our entire Recruitment Team. While it might sound terribly corporate, John-Paul reckons his greatest achievement has been the contribution he has made to the success of Contract Scotland over the last 13 years.

Julie celebrated a decade with Contract Scotland in August 2017! That is a whole lot of knowledge on recruitment, construction and freelance employment! Since day one at Contract, Julie has worked in the freelance division. She thrives on working in fast paced environments (you know those “it’s Friday afternoon, but can I have an Engineer on a Monday” scenarios) so it suits her perfectly. Julie now manages our freelance division having started as a Recruitment Consultant. She reckons this is her biggest success. However​, Spring 2016 saw the company reach the highest number of freelance workers in the company’s history and without such a great team here, we wouldn’t have reached such a milestone.

Karin joined Contract Scotland in 2007. She's the only Consultant within the team who has worked within the temporary and permanent recruitment teams and feels this gives her a rounded knowledge of the industry and what motivates our clients and candidates. Karin's currently manages the freelance site engineering division and is achieving incredible results.

Katie joined Contract Scotland in May 2013 as a Contracts Administrator within the finance team. She was keen to move into recruitment and in just 12 months she became a Resourcer working within the Permanent team. Shortly after becoming a Resourcer Katie was promoted to Consultant. After a year specialising in permanent recruitment, she has moved over to the dark side (we joke!) and is working with the Temporary team. As of the end of 2018, Katie is now heading up the Large Civil Engineering Contractors division – Katie is known for being quite competitive (only child syndrome) and loves a challenge!

Kelly joined us in 2011, after 7 years working in the Construction Industry. She has had experience of running some of our busiest and most diverse permanent sections and now manages CS Executive, our discrete and tailored Director level recruitment service. She adds value at senior management level due to her expert knowledge of the construction industry and talent management strategy skills. Kelly prides herself on providing a professional yet personal approach to her clients and candidates alike, ensuring them a hassle-free recruitment service time and time again. She is proud to have placed over 200 candidates in permanent positions from undergraduate to director level and is passionate about developing and educating people within our industry.

Kerry began her recruitment journey in November 2018 and joined our successful Housing Team looking after Social and Affordable Housing. Specifically, she works with New Build and Refurbishment clients of all sizes within the Scottish region. Despite this being her first role within recruitment, her sporting competitiveness drives her to be the best she can and lives by the motto, “let the weekend be-Gin”. During weeks days she enjoys going out and meeting clients and candidates to ensure the best recruitment service possible.

Kirsten joined Contract Scotland in October 2018 to deal with recruitment for Site Engineers in the freelance division for large civil and build clients. Having come from a performing arts background, swapping the theatre for the office has been a big learning curve but one she is taking head on! After seeing the success of her colleagues, this has helped Kirsten get to grips with the construction industry and better understand how to maintain and develop new relationships with clients and candidates.

Originally from Broughty Ferry near Dundee, Kirsty settled in Stirling back in 2003. Fast forward to 2018 where she became an permanent member of our Administration Team after initially joining us on a fixed term contract. She brings a wealth of experience to the role from similar positions around the UK and Europe. Her bright and cheerful smile is one of the first things people see when entering our office and she's always willing to lend a hand.  Her passion outside of work is spending as much time as possible with her four hoofed friend, Ruby, who go out on adventures together on a regular basis. She's is delighted to have joined the team and really looks forward to what the future holds for her within Contract Scotland.

Laura joined in August 2013 and knows her way around the office, because she organised most of it! Chieftain of the admin team, she is also the head IT geek and is often found under someone else’s desk. Along with the rest of the admin clan, she ensures that every registration takes place and CV we send out looks just right. No room for error here! If​ there’s a broken blind, a major computer failure or a leaky tap to be fixed, she’s your girl!

Having joined the Admin team in June 2017 Marie moved over to the Housing & Property team as a Recruitment Resourcer in the Summer of 2019. When not in Contract Scotland Marie can be found walking her two dogs Fudge and Mylo and her greatest achievement was running the Edinburgh Half Marathon to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice.

Following an eight-year hiatus, Michele re-joined a much bigger Contract Scotland in 2012, initially to cover maternity leave for a few months, but she's still here! Delighted that the firm still holds on to its values despite being a much bigger team, she's now part of the Administration team covering a busy reception, manning the telephones and providing support where required and she's the lucky one that works part-time providing her with the work-life balance she craved. Michele is the primary contact for organising company events and her ​biggest achievement so far has been helping to coordinate the staff and corporate events as part of the business’s 25th anniversary in 2015.​

Nicole, joining Contract Scotland in 2016 as a Recruitment Resourcer, assisted/contributed towards making key placements within the civil engineering sector and progressed to Recruitment Consultant. In 2018, Nicole moved into our Shared Services division specialising in temporary and permanent recruitment. Shared Services launched in January 2017 as a result of high demand from existing clients and Nicole, now spends her time working within Administrative departments. Nicole likes achieving and seeing results for both her clients and candidates and thrives through offering the best possible service. Nicole is always chasing the next challenge and is keen to progress, further her knowledge and capabilities as well as expanding her market share within Shared Services.

Nikki has been with Contract Scotland since 2012. She started working within the International division and has since gained more experience within Consulting Engineers, Housing and PQS. Her daily role is to source candidates and knowing her way around our database, ​and LinkedIn helps her achieve this. Nikki's proudest achievement was finding a Revit technician that was considering new opportunities and placing him within a Consulting Engineering firm (the unicorn of the recruitment world). He moved as it was to a more of a challenging role and gave him career development that he wasn’t gaining at his previous employer. She listened to his needs and helped him make the right move.​

Joined in 2015 as a modern apprentice. Sophie works predominantly in Accounts however, she supports the Payroll, Credit Control and Recruitment team on a regular basis. As her workload is so diverse, Sophie is faced with new tasks and challenges every day and is certainly never bored! Sophie has 1 more year left of studies until she qualifies as an Accredited Accountant.
