2016 has been a great year for Contract Scotland and it’s also been a great year for fundraising activities we have completed for our Charity of the Year, Strathcarron Hospice. Our charity and events team have organised some great activities and events in our office throughout the year, and we are delighted to announce that we have raised £1,351.50 for Strathcarron Hospice this year.
Our team of Eilidh, Johanna, Heather and myself kicked off the year with our ever popular Easter Bake Sale, which proved to a real success as a small fundraiser but perhaps not on so successful on the waistline! We have had various small donations throughout the year from running a Grand National sweepstakes, our monthly 5-a-side football (injuries permitting…) and also some kind donations from various members of the Contract Scotland team throughout the year.
One of the best nights of the year was our Casino Night where everyone got dressed up for the occasion as we played and most of us lost on Roulette, Blackjack and Poker, let’s say there was some sore heads the next morning… Our very own Graeme Brown raised a substantial amount wearing a kilt on a 26 mile walk, there has been some further foody adventures with a Halloween Cook Off in October, and today we are a festive looking bunch with our Christmas Jumpers on!
Working with Strathcarron Hospice has been terrific this year and it is a great opportunity not only for us to give back to a charity in our local area but we have been fortunate enough to see first-hand where our hard efforts go today with a charity that really does make a huge difference to people’s lives. Now it is time to hand over to our new charity team in 2017 who I am delighted to say that Savanna, Kelly, Gillian and Dionne will continue on the excellent work done by the team this year for Strathcarron. We all are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the Hospice and excited to see the ideas the new team have for 2017!
