A bit about me:

Why did you choose this profession?

Originally I signed up for University with a level of naivety about what Quantity Surveying entailed, it was more so a curiosity following an interest I always had about the way the built environment affected peoples lives.

What sectors would you be interested in working in?

Ideally I want to work for a company that focuses on high quality developments, utilises innovative sustainable technologies and carries out a wide variety of works.

Where do you see your career in 5 years’ time?

I think my personal life will highly dictate that answer. Business wise, I aim to have developed leaps and bounds in my profession in terms of my skills and abilities. Depending on the sector I enter, I would want to be chartered by then.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I play chess daily, I enjoy playing football regularly and play in leagues on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter, I enjoy hillwalking, travelling, spending time with my family, friends and girlfriend.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that you wouldn’t put on your CV?

Haha, hard one to think off on the spot. I am part of the oldest father-son duo to win a trophy in the Scottish Football Pyramid. Definitely my greatest life achievement and a great and unique memory with my Dad.

What qualities can you bring to a business?

On the surface I may appear very relaxed and laid back but I am a highly dedicated and motivated individual. I am a confident and fast learner and when given my first opportunity my employer could mould me into their way of working quickly.
