As was recently reported in the news, Ogilvie has provided a great chance for Robert Gordon University students to get some relevant industry experience; we believe this is the way the industry needs to be moving to help resolve the skills gap.
Unfortunately, there are others across the country who have since graduated with a construction related degree who have struggled to get any placement experience and are therefore yet to start a career.
One of the ways we will see the construction industry grow is by securing new talent. We need to find the means to ensure these Graduates remain engaged and have the opportunity to gain the experience they need to start their career.
Here at Contract Scotland we have our social enterprise programme, Constructing Futures that helps graduates gain vital industry experience through work placements.
