Two members of the Contract Scotland team, Alan Shave (Associate Director) and Callum Haig (Consultant), were recently selected to play for Scotland in the 1st leg of the 2018 Footgolf International vs England.
Footgolf is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and combines some of the best aspects of football and golf (so these guys tell us!).ﾠ Both Alan and Callum play regularly on the national ﾑTartan Tour’ and are happy to tell anyone who’ll listen about the sport and why you should play!
The competition took place at Muckhart Golf Club and involved 13 matches in a matchplay format, some singles and some doubles (Ryder Cup-style), with Scotland (sponsored by Core Fire Protection in Glasgow) running out the eventual winners with a score of 8 – 5.
England is generally regarded as the best nation in world Footgolf and would expect to beat the likes of Argentina, Spain and the USA, so the win has been compared to Man Utd being toppled by Stirling Albion!
The 2nd leg takes place at Tilgate Forest near London in mid-September, so expect an update and hopefully pictures of our guys with the silverware!
