Contract Scotland Scoops UK Wide Construction Industry Award

Scottish construction, property & engineering recruitment specialists Contract Scotland scooped a major national construction industry award last week at the inaugural UK Construction Investing in Talent Awards.

Recognising that ムconstruction is all about people’, an eye-catching panel of HR and talent experts from both inside and outside of the construction industry scrutinised entries from every corner of the UK, before announcing the winners at a glittering ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Mayfair on December 8th.

In what was a competitive category to identify the UK construction industry’s Best Recruitment Consultancy, Stirling-based Contract Scotland were singled out by the Judges as clear winners, thanks to their continued ムemphasis on quality’ throughout the recruitment process and across their entire operation.ᅠ The Judges were also impressed by the firm’s commitment to diversity amongst their candidate base and their work supporting graduates, undergraduates and those wanting to return to the construction industry, via their Social Enterprise, Constructing Futures.

John-Paul Toner, Operations Director at Contract Scotland, said “While we’ve been recognised at both recruitment & general business awards in the past, what makes this one so special is that itᅠis recognition from the construction industry itself.ᅠ To be acknowledged by the industry sector we serve as delivering a “best in class” recruitment service is testimony to the years of hard work and commitment of the team we’ve built at Contract Scotland. Talent attraction and retention are of ever increasing importance to our clients and non-clients alike, and to be endorsed by the industry as its recruiter of choice for our approach to addressing those challenges is very rewarding. This award comes at the end of what will be the most successful year in our 26-year history, and is the perfect way to finish the year.”

Associate Director Alan Shave added “The judges asked us to demonstrate how we deliver successful outcomes for all of our candidates & clients, as well as evidence of strong client feedback, a track record of repeat business and long-term success, so we’re thrilled that they recognised our achievements. ᅠIt’s a huge team effort that everyone can be proud of, and I can’t wait to build on the success with further growth in 2017!”

Contract Scotland is now in its 27th year of operation and employs 40 staff at their headquarters in Stirling. This year will see turnover grow for the 7th consecutive year and is projected to exceed ᆪ20m for the first time. Further expansion of both headcount and turnover is planned in 2017 as the company aims to take advantage of increased demand in both their core sectors and in the various support functions such as Finance, Marketing, IT and Administration, as construction firms increasingly turn to them for assistance in recruiting for these disciplines.
