Assistant Design Manager

Location: Cleland
Salary: £30000 - £36000 per year
Reference: J22665
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full-time
Created: 14th January 2022
Closing: 11th February 2022

We are working with a market-leading engineering business operating in the rail sector that is looking to appoint an Assistant Design Manager to join their team. Offering a fully integrated, turn-key service, they have been able to cement their position within the Scottish market in recent years with places on long term frameworks.

To support their service offering we have been supporting them to grow a multi-disciplinary technical team within their Scottish office. The Assistant Design Manager will be a key appointment within the longer-term development of the team. Rather than focusing on specific software or sector experience, they are looking for an individual that shares the characteristics that have enabled their success to date – drive, enthusiasm and adaptability.

You will need to have a background in Design Engineering, ideally within civil or electrical power engineering. Formal training in Project Management would also be advantageous. Beyond that, and perhaps more importantly, you should be able to display the following;

  • Good communication skills, both written verbal
  • An aptitude for technical problem solving
  • A high degree of IT/Software literacy
  • Commercial/contractual awareness
  • A passion for innovation and commitment to quality

If successful, you will join a supportive team environment where you will benefit from both formal, sector-specific training as well as informal coaching from colleagues with extensive industry-specific expertise.

In addition, you will receive a competitive salary and well-rounded benefits package and the opportunity to be part of a business operating at the cutting edge of infrastructure modernisation.

If you are interested in applying for this role, please apply with a copy of your most recent CV or for more information, contact Jamie Porter on 01786 446651 quoting J22665.
