Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established and family-owned housebuilder with over 40 years experience in the housing sector.  The successful candidate will work alongside the commercial manager to ensure the smooth running of our projects.


– Assisting in the preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of work, and tender documents

– Measuring and pricing variations, preparing valuations, and submitting claims for payment

– Assisting with the preparation of cost reports and cost plans

– Liaising with clients, contractors, and other professionals on commercial matters

– Assisting in the preparation of contract documents and contract administration

– Assisting in the preparation of final accounts and settlements


– Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

– Ideally a background in housebuilding and groundworks (not essential)

– Knowledge of bills of quantities and measurement principles

– Excellent communication and negotiation skills

– Ability to work well in a team

– Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
