Are you looking to kick start your career with a main contractor leading work in the power sector? We are seeking an eager Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team and contribute to success in delivering multi-million-pound power frameworks for a major energy provider.

The Project:
The project scope is to design and install a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) transmission system between Finstown in Orkney and Dounreay in Caithness, capable of transmitting no less than 220MW of power.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the commercial aspects of projects within the power sector, ensuring accurate cost control and budget adherence.
  • Support in preparing cost forecasts, financial reports, and procurement strategies.
  • Conduct cost analysis and identify potential areas for savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Assist in administering contracts and managing subcontractor relationships.
  • Provide support in resolving contractual disputes and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Some experience in quantity surveying within the construction or power industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Basic understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in a fast-paced environment.
