Civil Engineering Project Manager
Are you in a position where you are unable to plan beyond each individual project and are unsure of where the next project is likely to come from?
It's become an unfortunate reality within civil engineering - the next project might be local, or it might require you to relocate/work away from home. Worse still, there may not be a next' project.
This particular position is to be the sole Project Manager for a development that is expected to last for the next 15 years and has funding guarantees. Even frameworks can't typically offer that kind of security.
Working for one of the UK's leading construction and development groups, your role is to lead the major enabling infrastructure works for a significant new community on the outskirts of Aberdeen. From managing all appointments and assisting with the procurement of works, through to acting as the on-site Client Project Manager', you'll be the key interface and responsible for safe and timely delivery.
Chances are that you're a Project or Contracts Manager working for a Civil Engineering contractor. This is an opportunity to use your existing Civil Engineering experience in what is essentially a client led role.
Key duties within the role are:
• Review key infrastructure designs and help with value engineering where possible
• Liaise with important external stakeholders such as Scottish Water and SEPA
• Act as Project Manager under the NEC form of contract
• Monitor on-site works in line with agreed contract - cost, programme, H&S, quality
We're searching for someone who can demonstrate:
• A track record in project management of notable civil engineering schemes and infrastructure works
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills - you're going to be liaising with a lot of different stakeholders, both internal and external
• Solid experience in NEC led contracts
Most job adverts typically end with telling you that you can expect a competitive salary' and additional benefits'. I can tell you that this employer offer what is almost certainly the most flexible benefits package of any employer I have encountered in 13 years and that includes an approach to work flexibility that isn't normal' within the construction sector, coupled with a strong car/car allowance offering and bonus offering.
Please do apply or get in touch if you are interested in learning more about the above, as I'm able to discuss full detail on the business, the development itself, and the role.
