Civil Technician/Engineer - Development Infrastructure
If you are a skilled Civil Design Engineer or Civil Engineering Technician specialising in Development Infrastructure design, you won't need us to tell you quite how in demand your skills are. It is an area of the market that has performed strongly for a couple of years now and shows no signs of letting up.
The sheer volume of work combined with the shortage of skills means there's a constant pressure to deliver work quickly and accurately which, for many Engineers creates something of a Groundhog Day effect. Many yearn for more variety in their workload and a (slight) easing of the pace. Unfortunately the reality of the market at present is that very few, if any, employers can genuinely offer this.
Faced with this reality, at the very least you want your working environment to be fun and enjoyable and your employer to be conscientious, considerate and prepared to reward you well for your efforts. You also want them to be flexible to your needs, allowing you to preserve some sense of work-life balance including the ability to work from home if necessary.
We are working with one such employer at present; a company who we have worked closely with over the past 4 years, helping them carefully build a well-balanced team. As testament to their ethos and approach, they have maintained a very high level of staff retention, with each team member we've placed providing glowing reports on their experience so far. So, we are talking with a high degree confidence when we say that this company take a genuinely refreshing, forward thinking approach to the management and reward of their team.
They require an experienced Civil Design Engineers and/or Civil Engineering Technician to work on both high and low volume residential developments, flatted developments and some large scale master-planning. The main purpose of the roles will be to prepare designs, specifications, plans, estimates and reports for projects.

- Educated to a minimum of HNC/HNC level in Civil Engineering
