Community Benefits Coordinator

Are you in a community or training related role and no longer feel you are able to have the impact on improving communities that you signed up for?

Contract Scotland has been appointed to coordinate a campaign for a multi-faceted construction business who are on a quest to add resource to their Community Development team across the central belt. At the moment they have space for two Community Development Advisors and it is likely that the remit will be divided to allow for an east / west split.

Day to day the role is diverse and involves a considerable amount of internal and external stakeholder management, but the main purpose is to engage with communities to develop opportunities for them to benefit from construction projects or regeneration in their area. At the heart of the role is being able to create and maintain positive relationships with community bodies to deliver community focused initiatives and to ensure these objectives are maintained throughout the course of the construction programme and beyond.

A background in construction is not essential however experience working with community training and employability initiatives or social enterprise networks would certainly enhance your application.

This role will primarily be based in Stirling and will involve travel within the set region (east or west) so a degree of flexibility and a clean driving licence is essential.

This is a self-starting role that requires you to be driven by your own success. We are looking to hear from those who can demonstrate a track record of engaging with stakeholders at all levels and harness these to create long lasting partnerships that feed into the communities they work with. It requires you to be confident leading from the front and come to the role with ideas of your own. The roles will be fast paced, so you need to be effective managing your own time but in return you will quickly learn that your role is central to the core values of the business and offers a genuine opportunity to impact the lives of the communities you work with.

Samantha Pettigrew has been with Contract Scotland since 2007 beginning her career within the permanent division. She spent her first years cutting her teeth in the SME sector before moving across to the housing division where she succeeded in building relationships with several key players in the industry. Whilst day to day responsibility for these sectors falls to her colleagues, she remains actively involved from a management perspective. Samantha’s primary focus at present is managing the expansion of our New Homes Sales Staffing Division within the Housing and Property Sector at Contract Scotland as a result of demand from existing clients. She spends much of her time working with her clients and bringing her own personal touch to any recruitment campaign she works on.
