Design Engineer – Scaffolding

Contract Scotland have partnered with a family run subcontracting business who have a requirement for a scaffolding design engineer to join their business in the west of Scotland. This opportunity can be on a permanent or freelance basis with flexibility on working hours to accommodate part time working if preferred. The client have been operating within the wider industry for over 30 years with an impressive demonstrable background in the central and west of Scotland. Their work covers a variety of sectors including infrastructure, highways, civil structures and have the benefit of securing long term framework projects across the market.

The Design Engineer will join the business to provide technical guidance and produce drawings for projects. You’ll be experienced in temporary works design and ideally have used Smart Scaffolder and AutoCAD packages. A key requirement with this position is the ability to carry out design calculations and manage various checks in line with end client requirements. Owing to the nature of the works, some site visits will be required locally and you’ll be versed in engaging with end clients.

On offer is the ability to work with a small, family business who have a welcoming atmosphere and track record of delivery high quality work. Salary for this opportunity is between £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience with some room for negotiation.
