If you're from either an electrical trades or academic background, with a thorough and in-depth knowledge of the Building Services industry and you already have daily involvement in electrical estimating, then this is an opportunity to further your career within a well-established and leading Building Services contractor in Scotland, where the role is based from their offices in Edinburgh.
Building on an existing estimating team, whilst leading the electrical pre-construction function on various new-build and refurbishment projects, you will be working on preparing and submitting the full electrical packages for key M&E bids and tenders for both Tier 1 M&E contracting projects working with main build contractors as well as end-user/direct clientele, which leads to a varied role which includes high levels of client interaction as well as conducting various site surveys on existing building for small to large scale refurbishment projects also. The focus will be on commercial projects in sectors such as retail, education, healthcare, fit-out and industrial on project both within the public and private sectors.
The successful candidate will utilise their electrical building services expertise in order to win M&E projects up to the value of £8mil. You will be required to have experience in reading and understanding tender drawings and bills of quantities whilst also being able to work with and develop schedules of rates. Ideally you will have experience in using Estimation software although training will be provided if the successful applicant has not used this specific estimating software package in the past.
Ideally, you're currently working as an electrical estimator for an M&E Building Services contractor and are looking for a new challenge within a commercially focussed team where you will be at the forefront of the electrical pre-construction process through to project handover to the appointed project management team.
