A reputable regional building contractor is currently seeking an Estimator to join their team as part of their succession planning within their estimating dept. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate cost estimates for construction projects. This will involve analysing plans, assessing cost-effectiveness, and liaising with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure that cost estimates are robust and competitive.

Key Responsibilities:

– Analyse project drawings and specifications to prepare a comprehensive cost analysis
– Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and the project team to gather pricing and bids
– Assess risk and factor in potential unforeseen costs into the budget
– Prepare and present detailed reports on the costings of projects
– Work closely with the project management team to ensure estimates align with project timelines and specifications

Skills & Experience Required:

– Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
– A strong understanding of construction processes and materials
– Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
– Proficiency in estimation software
