Geotechnical Engineer

We are working with an Engineering Consultancy based in the city centre of Glasgow as they look for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their tight-knit team.

Our client has a diverse portfolio of work across public infrastructure and therefore are able to provide you with a regular variety of engineering challenges on a daily basis.

Working within this medium-sized Engineering Consultancy, you will not be burdened by over-bearing, centralised processes and procedures. Rather, you will work with autonomy and have the freedom to tailor your approach, working closely with clients to meet their needs. You will also be provided with training and support where needed.

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be involved in:
• Design, focused on offering particular expertise in slope stability analysis, earthworks design, soil nailing, ground anchors and foundation/piling design
• Identifying design briefs and offering practical affordable solution
• Offering further technical advice during the construction phase of project

What do you need to apply?
• MSc Geotechnical Engineering ( or equivalent )
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Slope/W
• Previous experience of preparing desk studies and conducting ground investigations
• Previous experience of preparing technical notes and reports
• Proven experience in a design consultancy environment working on civil infrastructure schemes
• Rail experience would be desirable but is not essential.
