Contract Scotland have an opportunity to join a well-respected regional civil engineering contractor as a Health & Safety Advisor based in Fife.

Our client has an established and demonstratable background in delivering civil engineering contracts ranging from £5k-£2m for both the public and private sector across East Central Scotland. Projects typically cover groundworks, earthworks, drainage and concrete packages. Operating primarily as a main contractor, the business still has a family feel to it and holds the values and principles of a traditional organisation.

Recently they have been successful in new projects and as such are looking to expand their team. As a Health & Safety Advisor you’ll work alongside experienced teams to ensure that projects are completed safely and on time. This position would suit someone with civil engineering experience who has recently gained a health & safety qualification or a more experienced Health and Safety Advisor who is looking to take a step back and work part time.

As a Health and Safety Advisor you will be responsible for:

• Creating and maintaining all HSE standards and requirements
• Overseeing site activity with specific oversight of safety procedures
• Carry out regular site inspections and audits
• Compiling and completing compliance reports and site documentation
• Reporting to site management on activity
• Taking a proactive approach in working with the client counterpart to deliver project to specification

Applicants must have the following:
• NEBOSH qualifications
• Due to the nature of the projects, previous experience working on civil engineering projects would be desired
• Full UK drivers license
