If you're from either a Mechanical trades or academic background, with a thorough and in-depth knowledge of the Building Services industry and you already have daily involvement in Mechanical estimating, then this is an opportunity to further your career within a secure and privately owned Building Services contractor in Scotland, where the role is based from their offices on the outskirts of Glasgow.
Building on an existing estimating team, whilst leading the Mechanical pre-construction function on various new-build and refurbishment projects, you will be working on preparing and submitting the full Mechanical packages for key M&E bids and tenders for primarily large to medium sized main contracting clientele, which leads to a varied role which includes high levels of client interaction as well as conducting various site surveys on existing buildings for small to large scale refurbishment projects also. Therefore, having strong client facing skills is an important aspect to this position. The focus will be on commercial projects in sectors such as retail, education, healthcare, fit-out and industrial on projects both within the public and private sectors.
The successful candidate will utilise their technical mechanical building services expertise to win M&E projects ranging in value from £250k-£6mil. You will be required to have experience in reading and understanding large scale M&E designs and bills of quantities whilst also being able to work with and develop schedules of rates. Ideally you will have experience in using Estimation software although training will be provided if the successful applicant has not used this specific estimating software package in the past.
Ideally, you're currently working as a mechanical estimator for an M&E Building Services contractor and are looking for a new challenge within a commercially focussed team where you will be at the forefront of the mechanical pre-construction process through to project handover to the appointed project management team. In return, the successful applicant will command an annual salary ranging from £45k-£55k per annum, car allowance, matched pension contribution, private healthcare and a discretionary annual bonus.
