Principal Civil Engineer
We are recruiting on behalf of a large national Engineering Consultancy are a multi-disciplinary practice offering a diverse range of services to their clients across the UK. The client is looking an experience Civil Design Engineer to not only be involved in hands on design but also lead and develop a junior team on Engineers.
Within the Glasgow office, they have a team of Civil and Structural design team who work largely on the Scotland Excel Framework as well as other public sector hub contracts throughout Britain. Projects will consist of a diverse range of civil works including highways/carriageways, bridges, flood alleviation and drainage schemes. About the role?
They have a busy team of Graduates Engineers, Trainee/Apprentices and Technicians but require a Principal Engineer with good leadership skills to help guide and mentor the group. The role will be hands on, actively participating in the design of schemes whilst reviewing the work of the Graduate Engineers. You will also be involved in managing client relationships and cost management of projects, allowing you to further develop your commercial acumen and take your career to the next level. You will be relied upon to offer not just technical guidance to junior staff but also help foster a positive, inclusive working environment. An ability to relate to others and be a motivating presence within the team will be key. You will also:
• Be a degree qualified Civil Engineer with proven experience in a design consultancy environment
• Have Chartered status
