Principal Designer/CDM Adviser
We are working with the Marine Construction Sector of one of the UKs largest companies. They deliver a wide array of complex through-life marine engineering services. Ranging from UK and international naval fleet support, commercial marine, engineering consultancy, weapons handling, equipment support, intelligence, cyber security and training delivered through unique owned and managed infrastructure to defence and civil customers across the globe.
They are looking for an experienced CDM Adviser to undertake the role of Principal Designer and to lead and supervise a team of Clerk of Works and H&S Advisors.
The position will involve oversight of all construction activities and ensuring that the delivery of all construction projects is fully compliant with the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations. The post will also entail undertaking thorough investigation of accidents and incidents to ensure suitable and sufficient steps are taken to ensure there is no reoccurrence, providing Health & Safety guidance to the projects team and oversight and production of all relevant and required documentation, including checking contractor risk assessments and method statements.
To be considered candidates must be highly experienced Principal Designers/CDM Advisers, have undertaking significant formal training in Occupational Health and Safety such as NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ 4 and will be CMIOSH or working towards Chartered Status. They will have a good knowledge of general engineering principals, prior experience in managing a Construction Health & safety team, working in Construction Health & Safety and creating all relevant documentation
Please note, this varied role will be based on an active MOD base so will require someone who is able to obtain full UK security clearance.
In return, the successful applicant will receive a generous basic salary up to £40,000 coupled with a range of benefits associated with working in such a large company.
