Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team, based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in either housing/ affordable housing, or a  sub-contractor from the housing sector.

Key responsibilities:

– Assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the management of the project budget, ensuring that all financial targets are met

– Preparing and submitting accurate tender documents and bills of quantities

– Managing sub-contractors and ensuring their work is completed to a high standard and within budget

– Assisting with cost value reconciliations and producing reports on project progress

– Assisting with the measurement and valuation of variations and payments

– Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all documentation is up to date and stored correctly

– Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project

Requirements:

– A degree in Quantity Surveying or related field

– At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally, with a focus on housing / affordable housing projects

– Experience in managing sub-contractors and working with them to achieve project goals

– Excellent communication and negotiation skills

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

– Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

– Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software packages
