Senior Design Engineer position with private developer
Are you a Design Engineer currently working on Infrastructure or Structural projects, interested in a career with arguably one of the industries busiest sectors - Housebuilding?
Maybe you are currently working within a Design Consultancy, and have fallen out of love with hands on design and are keen to push your experience in another direction such as Managing the process.
If you already work within a Residential Developer, the thought of working with a medium sized family run housebuilder may be a breath of fresh air from some of the larger, volume builders...
So what is involved when working for a housebuilder as an Engineer?
Primarily you will be involved in delivering solutions that enable the business to acquire land effectively.
You can expect to be involved in the public consultation process, attend all relevant meetings such as pre start and site completion as well as coordinating all of the engineering information between external consultants and internal departments.
The role of a Design Engineer within a developer is more along the lines of Project Management, where you are involved in overseeing the design process, between reading drawings in the office and visiting developments to ensure everything is following the plan on the ground.Sound good?
What you will need for this role is a HNC/HND or Degree level in Civil Engineering.
Experience of working on residential projects (either from a Consultancy or Housebuilder) is essential for this role given the seniority. In addition to this you must be confident in design of Infrastructure or Structural projects. As you can imagine, being IT literate is a must - specifically in AutoCAD/PDS/Civils3d ideally.
That aside, you must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills due to a high level of internal and external engagement associated with this role.
Hard work doesn't go unrewarded, and this is certainly the case with this position.
You can expect a basic salary of between £40,000 to £50,000 plus an extensive benefit package including company car/allowance. The benefit package also includes private healthcare and pension.
Unique from most housebuilders, this developer also runs a flexible working pattern as a work/life balance is valued across the company.
If this sounds like a role for you and you would like to apply, then send your CV to Eilidh Cameron or call in on 01786 446651.
