Our client, a highly reputable civil engineering contractor based in Central Scotland, are looking to expand their team by adding a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience within the Civil Engineering sector.  They are currently operating within Groundworks, Infrastructure, Drainage & Earthworks projects, but have capabilities to offer a diverse service offering to their clients making them one of the faster-growing organisations in the Scottish Market.

With an exciting portfolio of projects on the horizon, this company is committed to investing in its people, offering ample opportunities for professional growth and development.

You will be responsible for advising on Contract Conditions and Commercial matters and maintaining accurate financial control systems including but not limited to:

  • Conducting Monthly Cost Value Reconciliations
  • Maximising valuations, ensuring timely certification and payment
  • Managing contract variations efficiently
  • Forecasting costs and values across all trades
  • Collaborating with operational teams to secure necessary resources
  • Monitoring on-site progress and adhering to contract procedures
  • Vigilantly vetting quotations for compliance and competitiveness
  • Handling Final Accounts preparation and subcontractor accounts management
  • Ensuring strict compliance with Health and Safety policies and Quality Manual.

The ideal candidate will possess a methodical approach, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly in groundworks for housing projects.
  • CSCS card holder
  • A member of the RICS or ICES is desirable but not essential.
