Senior Quantity Surveyor

Key Requirements of the Role 
– Manage all costs relating to housing projects, from initial calculations to the final figures.
– Minimize project costs and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
– Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
– Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
– Advise on a procurement strategy.
– Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
– Prepare and analyze costings for tenders.
– Allocate work to subcontractors.
– Provide advice on contractual claims.
– Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
– Value completed work and arrange payments.
– Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
– Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Experience 
– Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
– Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying within the housing sector.
– Strong understanding of construction processes, procurement, and commercial management.
– Excellent numerical and financial management skills.
– Strong negotiation and communication skills.
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
– Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
– Full UK driving license.
