If you ask anyone within the private residential industry, they will tell you the NHBC Awards Lunch is an event not to be missed and one of the most celebrated afternoons of the event calendar!
This was Contract Scotland’s 4th year attending the event, and Team Housing will certainly be back next year.ᅠ It is extremely rewarding to see the industry’s finest talent celebrate after the hard work they put in to be recognised by the NHBC, whether they were there to collect a Pride in the Job, Seal of Excellence or Regional Award.ᅠ It is also a great event for those who are striving to achieve the high standard of the NHBC winners, taking away with them some inspiration and motivation to make the shortlist next year.
The atmosphere was buzzing and it was clear to see the main object on the addenda was to relax, catch up with familiar faces within the industry and celebrate the success of the Scottish Housing Sector!
The list of winners varied from large to medium sized developers, with a wide spread of companies featuring on the list.ᅠ Among many others, the Taylor Wimpey tables (East and West) had a lot to celebrate after scooping 8 Pride in the Job Awards, 2 Seal of Excellence and the Regional Award for the large housebuilder category.ᅠ It was also a very successful night for CALA Homes, Bellway, Barratt Homes and Miller Homes who all received numerous Pride in the Job and Seal of Excellence recognitions.ᅠ
It wasn’t just a night for the large housebuilders, as consistent favourites Mactaggart & Mickel Homes winning the Regional Medium Developer Award and A&J Stephen were also rewarded with a Seal of Excellence.ᅠ And we couldn’t not mention Quartermile, who received the Regional award for best flatted development for the second year in a row!
For us, the afternoon was an excellent opportunity for us to catch up and celebrate with our clients and candidates who we have been dealing with throughout the year (and long before!).ᅠ We had the pleasure of sharing a table with the ever accommodating NHBC staff who are always sure to make us feel at home and value our support of the event.ᅠ Aside from the delicious three-course lunch at The Hilton, Glasgow – we were entertained by comedian Des Clarke who had the entire room of 500 people in tears of laughter.
We would like to wish all the winners at this year’s NHBC Awards a huge congratulations and we look forward to next year, hopefully, to see some returning and new faces within the industry!
