We've been supplying staff to the rail sector for over 20 years and have built up a wealth of contacts during this time. So if your looking for a rail job in Scotland, contact us to see how we can help grow your career.
Since 1990, we've supplied to all the major rail projects in Scotland:
As as RISQS approved supplier, we're working with our clients to secure talented Site Engineers, General Foremen, Management, Commercial and Health and Safety staff. We can also support workers through their Industry Common Induction and also have access to the Personal Track Safety (PTS) courses.
The number of rail jobs in Scotland has increased over the past few years, with major projects for new rail lines and stations, as well as improvements to existing railways and stations, which has resulted in a high demand for staff.
There are a number of ongoing projects in Scotland and we are consistently looking for individuals who are interested in working within the sector. Given the majority of these are in more remote locations, (along with the current skill shortages within the industry), clients are considering rail staff from throughout the UK for relocation both on a temporary and permanent basis.

The team here at Contract Scotland are target focused – on quality, not quantity!
As a result, your consultant doesn't work on commission and is therefore focused on the individual needs of their job seekers and employers. It's all about finding the right person for the job.
Julie celebrated a decade with Contract Scotland in August 2017! That is a whole lot of knowledge on recruitment, construction and freelance employment! Since day one at Contract, Julie has worked in the freelance division. She thrives on working in fast paced environments (you know those “it’s Friday afternoon, but can I have an Engineer on a Monday” scenarios) so it suits her perfectly. Julie now manages our freelance division having started as a Recruitment Consultant. She reckons this is her biggest success. However, Spring 2016 saw the company reach the highest number of freelance workers in the company’s history and without such a great team here, we wouldn’t have reached such a milestone.
Since joining in January 2016, Laura has taken on some of Scotland’s biggest and baddest civil engineering contractors. Her organisation skills aid her and her clients well in the fast-paced nature of temporary recruitment. Her biggest aim at present is to continue to work towards reducing the industry’s skills shortage.
Katie joined Contract Scotland in May 2013 as a Contracts Administrator within the finance team. She was keen to move into recruitment and in just 12 months she became a Resourcer working within the Permanent team. Shortly after becoming a Resourcer Katie was promoted to Consultant. After a year specialising in permanent recruitment she has now moved over to the dark side (we joke!) and has joined the Temporary team. Katie is now heading up the Freelance Engineering division along with Karin Campbell and hopes to make plenty of successful placements and beat the current record for the number of Freelance Engineers we have working with us – Katie is known for being quite competitive (only child syndrome) and loves a challenge!
