Scottish Home Awards 2017

This year was the first year Contract Scotland have attended the Scottish Home Awards, and needless to say we hope to be back next year!ᅠ

After attending the Homes for Scotland Lunch and NHBC Pride in the Job events year upon year, we weren’t sure what to expect of this event however we weren’t left disappointed and it was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with many of our long standing and new clients within the housebuilding industry.

Held at The Hilton, Glasgow my colleague Jennifer Sancroft (who looks after the Social Residential Market) put our glad rags on and were ready for a good night of networking and catch up with a selection of the 600 people in attendance.ᅠ With a good split between Private Developers and Social Housebuilders, as well as suppliers and Housing Associations it was nice to see such a mix of people within the industry in the one room.

It seemed to be a night of success for small to medium sized housebuilders, with Robertson Homes scooping the Housebuilder of the Year (150 units plus) and S1 Developments taking away the awards for less than 150 units.ᅠ It was also nice to see some more bespoke developers gain recognition such as Snowdrop Developments, Orkney Developments and Places for People.

There were a number of awards up for grabs on the night, from House of the Year to Development of the Year, which meant a wide spread of contenders across the board.ᅠ The atmosphere was brilliant with so many different entrants hopeful they would take an award away with them after a year of hard work.ᅠ Des Clarke was our host for the evening, and he helped create an informal, relaxed tone to the evening as well as a few giggles!

Overall, we will be looking forward to next year’s event and firmly putting the Scottish Home Awards on our Housing Events Calendar.ᅠ We would like to congratulate each winner on their success, and hope to see them again in 2018!
